Do You Know Enough about Eating Disorders?

Are you a health professional, educator, or administrator interested in eating disorder training or information for your staff? The Emily Program Foundation can conduct an educational session or training with your staff or offer an educational session at your organization for the public.

• Eating disorders are serious problems for women and men
• Over 1/2 of teen girls and nearly 1/3 of teen boys use unhealthy weight control behaviors such as fasting, smoking, vomiting, and taking laxatives
• Compulsive Overeating is a major contributor to obesity
• Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness
• More than 11 million Americans & 200,000 Minnesotans have an eating disorder; 10% are male
• Dieting and bingeing are “gateway” behaviors for eating disorders

Our Educational Seminars teach you and your colleagues how to respond to the early warning signs of eating disorders.

These engaging presentations help you to:

• Intervene confidently and effectively with people showing signs of disordered eating and body image problems
• Identify treatment options
• Support individuals before, during, and after treatment
• Utilize effective eating disorder and obesity prevention strategies
